UNO......DOS.....!
Well......
We had our first appointment today. Let me go ahead and cut right to the chase......THERE IS TWO...Yes TWO babies.
I was so nervous in the first place because oddly enough at almost 11 weeks i have not felt pregnant, i have not been sick and i do not have one single symptom. I just knew there would be no heart beat or something to that extent and the anxiety from the miscarriage to add to all of that.
But boy was i WRONG!
Immediately when she put the ultrasound on my stomach one huge baby popped up and was squirming and dancing around....heartbeat was 175. And it measured 10 weeks 5 days....THEN she's like "oh theres another"! My reply was "your shitting me?"...i just kept saying your lying, your lying....Nope she wasn't. Baby B measured 10 weeks 2 days and the heart beat was 168. They were both very active and in their own sacs ( which i learned is better than them being in the same sac). Poor Houston was leaning against the wall and turned ghost white, i just knew he was going to faint or cry. I started crying my eyes out immediately and made him hold my hand as the WHOLE office came in to check them out. We left there in a blur. I was numb, in denial and in total shock. listening to everybody's reaction was priceless though. Nobody believed us at first, and still once they see the pics its still really hard to believe. Neither one of us have twins in our families, even distant relatives. Never ever in my life did i think there was two in there.
I think it was meant to be and we will be happy and deal with it just like everybody else who has multiples does. Its going to be hard with us being first time parents and getting a double dose right off the bat, but it will all be worth it in the end. I think god might have been making up for the lost baby...
The due date was July 13th when there was one but since i am high risk and carrying two they will not let me go the full 40 weeks. I will have a scheduled C-Section when my high risk doctor and normal doctor decide i am ready.
Obviously i am going to have to change the name of my blog.....lol. Wonder if anybody has did the chalk board idea with twins....? I can't wait.
We have decided we are going to stick with "H" names, Hudson and Harper is what we had for the planned one ( i have loved those names for years). So those will be be our boy/girl names.......I have to come up with an extra of each and i am just not in love with anything at the moment.
So after a mentally exhausting day i think ill try to get some rest.

SURPRISE!
That's right!!! Houston and I are excited to share the news we are expecting a baby in July!
We feel very blessed to have been given the chance to start a family, however this whole experience has been full of ups and downs........
It was early August, shortly after we moved into our new house. I had missed my period by a day (and if you know me, you know i track it and carry around a calendar with it wrote down every day and month). Honestly i just thought it was stress from moving and building the house and i had been on a diet all summer and lost a dramatic amount of weight. I really didn't think i was pregnant at all. By the end of the week here i am standing in the kitchen, head in my hands, positive pregnancy test crying my eyes out. Houston comes in playing 20 questions as to what was wrong and i just couldn't find the words to say it or maybe i was afraid to hear it come out of my mouth. Finally he says it "your pregnant?" "your pregnant aren't you?". My whole body was shaking as he held me and assured me it was ok and he was happy and he was going to be a daddy finally!!!! I think my body and mind was in a state of shock & still thought i was 18. I had to remind myself over and over that this is OK...i am almost 25, happily married, we both have jobs, we have a nice home and we are perfectly capable of raising a child. After a few weeks of constant stress and worrying, i finally decided it was okay and we would tell our family and work. Everyone was SO happy and that gave me more assurance. Then the excitement really sank in. I wanted to buy things and look at baby stuff. I got so many ideas from pinterest and blogs i would look at, i couldn't wait to make a chalk board and announce it to friends and document every week. I loved that feeling of excitement and it brought Houston and i closer together. It was perfect.
Shortly after we became overwhelmed with joy the pregnancy took a turn for the worse. While at work i went to the bathroom and noticed some spotting. I kinda freaked out but had been reading up so i knew this was normal this early and to top it off my mom and sister had both had bleeding all though both of their pregnancies. I called my doctor and they did blood work that day and my hcg level was 470 two days later it was 820 so it didn't quite double like it should have but that was ok to them so i was good but still a little worried all weekend. On that next Monday after an emergency room visit my levels had dropped to 254. It was then that i woke up and all my pregnancy symptoms were gone, It was what i had been hoping wasn't true, i was miscarrying. There is NOTHING like going to the bathroom for a month, yes a month straight and being reminded every time that's whats happening and theres not a thing you can do. The pregnancy had failed at around 6 weeks and we were left with a very strange emptiness. One second we were on top of the world and the next it was crashing down. Of coarse in the midst of all the tears, depression and sadness and at the worst time possible, babies and pregnant women show up everywhere, to make matters worse, i had a sister and a sister in law both huge pregnant and having baby showers in the middle of misery. I couldn't force myself to deal with them. Nobody knew what was going on and quite honestly it seemed like i was alone. I shut down and was in a hole for a long time. Miscarriage makes a woman feel as if she has failed at the one thing god has made her for. It leaves a hole inside and makes you just feel numb. It was terrifying once i became healthy enough physically and mentally and we decided that we wanted to try again. Pregnancy after a miscarriage is actually not a happy time. In fact the only word i can use to describe it is constant anxiety..all day, every day and night. We didn't celebrate, we didn't announce and we are JUST not getting around to sharing with family this time. It was hard undoing the last pregnancy and i am positive, mentally i couldn't do it again. There was many days i set at my desk crying and just asking god why, i knew i had to be strong and get up and go to work everyday but i defiantly didn't want to. That ordeal may have been the lowest point i have ever been in life. God does not care if your the most qualified or have everything you need to raise a child, if it's not in his plan it's not meant to be. NEVER in my life did miscarriage cross my mind, i didn't think it could happen to me i guess. But i sure was wrong.
So here i am 10 weeks 3 days pregnant and 2 days away from my FIRST doctors appointment that i never made it to last time. Initially i was upset when they told me they wouldn't see me until 10-12 weeks, especially with what happened before and i just wanted peace of mind, i got blood work done at 4 weeks 4 days and 4 weeks 6 days and it already looked better than last time though, they were 421 and 838. But the closer i get to Thursday the more anxiety i have. I just want to hear the heartbeat and see him/her move. But then again i am terrified something will be wrong.
I have had almost no symptoms. Call me crazy but I literally pray for every symptom possible, you just need assurance after the roller coaster like what I have been on. I have been nauseous maybe 3 times and other than the typical exhaustion, frequent urination and breast tenderness (sorry tmi i know) I've been great, almost to great if you ask me. I am finally starting to show and have a little bit of a belly which helps ease my mind. I thought this blog might help though this pregnancy and give me a place to share this time with the people closest to me. So here goes nothing.........Ideas from blog "littlebabygarvin".
